If the college you are attending (or are interested in attending) does not specifically offer Petroleum Engineering, then a combination of Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering along with another major or minor in Geology will get you where you want to be. You should be aware that the coursework involved with this major is very math and physics intensive. If you are not that strong in math, do not be discouraged; it is still feasible to attain a degree in the above field however it will take significantly more work and discipline. Also be aware that the price of oil will dictate your employment i.e. price is high, you gotta job, price is low, welcome to unemployment. Hope this helps.
