I'm talking no saliva contact, no kissing, shaking hands or anything else, JUST sex.

This is purely a theoretical question, I realize it would be pretty hard to be in close contact with someone and not come down with a cold, I'm just wondering if the cold virus is spread through sexual contact.

You do not acquire a cold virus because of sexual contact. The reason you probably think you did is because you have to be really pretty close with someone during intercourse. That alone is enough for the virus to spread from the infected person to you. Now if you are talking about Cold Sores, which are small painful blisters caused by the herpes simplex virus, those are spread through sexual contact.

Rhinoviruses (the kind that cause the common cold) are so contagious that you can get it in an elevator 20 minutes after someone has sneezed. So yes, you can get it by sexual contact, but you can get it by drinking out of the same glass, sharing a joint or a cigarette, or picking up droplets of mucus on your hands. It's not considered an STD.

i dont think so, i think the virus reproduces in your respiratory tract and pretty much stays there/just spreads by air/saliva. but like you said youd probably be kissing on them unless youre doing a hooker

You don't even have to have the sex, just breathing on someone is enough to get a cold.

I think if they breathed on you, it would spread germs. But if you wore a face mask and washed your hands.... maybe not LOL
