what do you expect on a first date???

If you are asking out someone for the first time what would you expect to be a very good date.....

I am 23 and starting to meet new people , and I have never ask someone out due to a 3 year deppresion that I had , so thats why I need help , because I want to ask someone out and I need some advice,

expect nothing more than having a good time with a best friend.
reason: high expectation on something that doesnt work out means higher disappointment.

dont go for the movie and dinner on first date.
reasons: theres no social interaction for 1-1/2 hrs during a movie, a girl will decide if she likes you whether she eats or not, you want to impress her with your charm and wit, theres no impressing with how much you pay...you want her to like you for you, not your wallet.

do something fun and simple
do some hiking, ask her to meet you for coffee (or drinks) and conversation, and so on.

give no more than 1 day advance notice
(a Thursday date asked on Wednesday)
reason: give her 3 days advance notice gives her power to decide on you...and this of course could mean for her go out with other guys before she decides on you. women can flake on you so give them very little time to think on that.

Hm.holding hands is nice,talking,get to know the person.Course I'm a little quieter than most.I don't like jumping into water untill I know if there are any sharks.

first dates are about getting to know the person better, even with the 2nd and 3rd date, you're getting to know the person, see how you vibe with them in person
