Since pregnancy can feel like an emotional roller coaster, dreams become more vivid and crazy than usual. Dreams also become more vivid during pregnancy because of increased progesterone and increased awakenings from dream-filled REM (rapid eye movement) sleep.
Some experts think pregnancy dreams — which can be about everything from tadpoles and fishes to talking animals and towering skyscrapers — symbolize your excitement, fear, and apprehension about the physical and emotional changes happening to you. They believe that certain themes are common to each stage of pregnancy.
The site below can tel you more about dreams through the different trimesters. Hope this helps you out!

Giving birth is probably one of the most traumatic experiences you will undergo, and you know this already. It's not surprising that your mind is brooding on what is coming up with a great deal of apprehension, and I think that your dreams are more to do with your general nervousness of something you have never experienced than any form of premonition. Medical care these days in the developed world is excellent. The number of people who actually die during childbirth is very, very small - you are in a hospital, being monitored by healthcare professionals, with all the equipment around to care for you. It's quite likely that the birth won't follow your birthplan - but that's pretty standard, anyway! There is no reason why your mum couldn't be around in the hospital as well, if that is okay with you and your partner. She wants to be with you for your sake, not hers, but if you say that your partner is the one who you mostly want with you, I'm sure that she would understand that. However, if your labour stretches to more than a few hours, your partner could well do with a break, from time to time. Also, frankly, us men feel a bit like a spare limb on labour wards - it's important to share it with you, but you may find that you get more out of a woman who's been there before.

It is not uncommon for pregnant women to have strange or vivid dreams. They are not necessarily always bad nor are they always limited to the first trimester. I had 4 children and never had trouble with dreams. However, our oldest daughter is expecting our first grandchild in April and she has been having off the wall dreams since she first was pregnant. Many of them have to do with trains. No idea why. Apparently unusual dreams have something to do with hormones according to her doctor.

I never had bad dreams with either of my pregnancies. I did dream about the sex of my children and in my case I dreamed that I was having girls and I had boys. The one thing that I know that you are going to dream a lot about is sex. I am not sure what it is but when we have life growing inside of us sex is the one thing that we can't get off of our minds. Crazy off the wall dreams are normal I read on babycenter.com that all women have weird dreams throughout the whole pregnancy. If you want to know more about the reason for the crazy dreams I say go to babycenter.com.

I have not had any weird or bad dreams and I am past my first trimester. I ususally don't remember my dreams, but I did remember two in the last month. Both were about pregnancy.

I've been having very vivid dreams where before i never really had any. It's because of the hormones.
