That would depend on the beer. And the chips.
Good beers cost more than a buck or two. If yopu're not willing to spend it, then you buy cheap beer just for the buzz. Some of us actually drink beer for the flavor.

Depends on the beer, if its a good beer, like budweiser or heinakin or a real german or amber/ dark beer then its Okay. If its some chep light beer then you got ripped off. Were the chips in a big bag or mini? That can range from $2.00 - .50

$4.50 is a darned good price for a beer and chips! I can't get that kind of a deal at any deli around here in CA!
