What is with the snarky comments? Someone can be engaged for 3 years and still get married. Give me a break. Anyways.. No, there isn't much you need to be doing right now, other then deciding on a rough date. You wont need to start diving into the planning until about a year and a half from the date. It really depends on how big of a wedding you are planning. I had 100 ppl, and it took me a year and a half to plan. Whatever you do don't get your dress too early. That was the first thing I did and by the time the wedding came I didn't like it anymore. Good luck and congrats on your engagement!

write down exactly how you are envisioning the wedding, and keep it updated until the wedding gets here. Once you make that list, you will see things that you will need that you could get now, or do now. The sooner you get things out of the way, the less stressed you will be once it gets close. The best thing would be to make list and keep them updated (ex. colors you like, songs you want played, themes, food, etc. or you could buy things like... a guestbook, or if you know they colors you want for sure, you could get decorations *you also get the advantage, if some things are on sale, you could get them early*) If nothing else, you will atleast have many ideas to brainstorm thru once the wedding gets closer. also, start a budget. price some items now, and look at places. Once the budget is done, you know what you are saving up for, and what you will need. Then when the wedding is closer, you will have pretty accurate estimates on how much things will cost, and won't have to stress out about it later.

Thats along ways away & your plans might change by then but here is some stuff you can do.
1. Pick a date.
2. Choose where you want it.
3. And start looking at different things like flowers, dresses, colors, food, favors, Etc.
4. Think about who yall want to be in yalls wedding party.
You dont have to book or buy anything yet but you can start looking & seeing what you might like & how much it is going to cost. You can never start to early! I hope this helps! Congratulations & Good Luck :)

Not really. Though if you plan on having it at a popular wedding spot you could start reserving things now if you can reserve it early (and get the cheaper prices since people raise their prices almost every year), especially if its in a popular wedding month, that way you could get a primo date and time and rates.

If you are planning on getting married or having a reception somewhere that is really popular you may want to book those places. And like others said, keep alll of your receipts.
Other than that just enjoy your planning.

Here is a good website that might help you: www.weddingchickie.com. It's got planning tools, resources, an extensive checklist of what you need to think about. And the people who run it are really responsive if you have questions.
Good luck!

You should ask yourself why you are waiting for three years to get married? I don't understand having an engagement for that long. But there really isn't anything to be doing until you get to a year out from your date.
Good luck!
