im italian originally but have now settled in melbourne. Me and hubby have travelled a lot around australia, we both love adventure and went off on a 4WD van with only a bed in the back and kitchen utensils for cooking.
Its a massive country which also means driving distances are long. We drove 10-12 hrs at a time. But that aside Australia its the most beautiful place on earth. Believe me when i say : get Lonely Planet GUide book, have a look at what u wanna see and just plan on seeing things. Take it easy and enjoy the adventure. You wont regret one thing.

Go for it!!!
We went to Australia in 2005 and had a fabulous time.
We stayed in Sydney 5 days, Melbourne 2 days, Ayers Rock 3 days, Cairns 5 days, Brisbane 5 days and Fiji 3 days.
There are some fabulous beaches, rain forests and outback there. So varied landscapes that you wont get bored.
I wish i could do a year out there!
We are planning another visit in 2008 for a month and will visit Perth, Broome, Darwin, Brisbane and Cairns.
Then we are planning to try and emigrate.

Never travelled but went there for three weeks to Sydney two years ago for Xmas and New Year.

Three weeks was not enough time to explore everything we thought we would

We loved it though and are hoping to go back very soon possibly to Perth or Melbourne .... everyone is so relaxed and really friendly I am sure you will have a great time.

Be sure to do the bridge climb while your in Sydney ... I was a bit disappointed with Bondi but Manley is really nice

I'm sooooooo jealous - have a fantastic time x

I went there in Summer 2006 - my parents and I went up the East Coast - Melbourne to Cairns - on train and in a Campervan. It was sooo amazing. I agree with that other bloke that the Bridge Climb is definetly worth it - absolutely amazing - takes your breath away!!
If you like birds, go to the Blue Mountains (outside Sydney) its really nice up there!
I also sky-dived and scuba dived which were fantastic - swam with sharks - met Nemo! So brilliant! Whale watching was also fantastic. The weather was brilliant - in the 5+weeks there was only 3 wet days!!
Canberra was nice to explore - the museum and War Mem. The new Parliament was brilliant - especially if you love beautiful buildings!
Cairns was sooo wonderful - absolute heaven.
The best bit was Magnetic Island - I saw a wild koala when on a walk there - (climbed one of the hills on the trail), a giant turtle (- went canoeing!), also saw a Echidna. Definetly go there!!!! A day trip well worth it - for snorkeling, jet-skiing etc!
Hope you enjoy it! It was sooo amazing!!!
