For personal things (friends, gossip, w/e), no, but if I were working for the government..

I'd probably keep it secret for the country and go to prison, or like go kill myself to keep the info hidden.

Would I stay silent? Of course that depends on the implicit understanding I had with the provider of the information.

If it means do I give up a confidential source then no. However, if it came down to telling someone how old my mother is or how I voted in the last election then yes I would.

I like Peter D's answer. There is some information that must be kept secret. Other information, I'd rather not tell, but I'd tell if necessary.

Depends on how important the info was and how much time I had to do. The thing about doing time is it haunts you the rest of your life. It would have to be pretty important info to do time over.

hypothetically speaking, it depends what kind of info and who is involved. In the end though, I prefer not doing time of course.
