hey off to brussels and bruges tonight!just dawned on me there would i have to wear suit and tie in that resteraunt cos its looks very swanky?

Yep... It looks fancy!

In Belgium, people don't really care about dress codes... You could wear a suit and a tie, but don't feel obliged to do so.
I've seen ministers in jeans, dining in a three star restaurant. (Expensive jeans... But still.)
If you feel more comfortable in a nice shirt and pants, it won't be a problem.

As long as you don't show up in shorts and t-shirt, you'll be fine.

I went there in jeans ,T-Shirt and sneakers and wasnt kicked out :) But yes you'd be better off dressed in formals atleast nice pants & shirt.
