I can only find flights that have a layover in Miami and Houston. You practically fly past Puerto Rico, just to go back. Is there a way to fly to another country like Panama? The idea is to cut down the travel time.

There are no direct flights to Puerto Rico from Colombia. Avianca is trying to get permission from the U.S. and Colombia to fly that route, however that won't happen for a few years. Your best bet is flying to Panama City and catching the direct flight on Copa Airlines to San Juan. There are also direct flights to Puerto Rico from Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Caracas, Venezuela on American Airlines.

From my personal experience, Jet Blue is the one. The flight attendants are very friendly so is the captain. The service is great and they give you a menu that you choose from. It is of munchies, but not tiny bags of peanuts, they give full size bags of chips, pretzels and more. Also you have a wide selection of soft drinks. These are all free, and you can have as many as you like. Sincerly I loved my flight with Jet Blue and their service and when I travel again, Jet Blue it is. Their flights to Puerto Rico are non-stop so no worry about running to another terminal to grab another plane, nor luggage loss nor confussion. Just sit back and relax and enjoy your trip and enjoy your stay. Bienvenida a Puerto Rico.Welcome to Puerto Rico.

You dont mind if I look in your bag do you sir? Asking for a direct trip between those spots is like branding smuggler on your forehead.
