The grout is only cracking around the bottom area where to tile meets the backsplash of the countertop? What would cause this to happen? The rest of the tile grout doesn't seem to be a problem. This is newly installed tile done by a contractor.

the tiles are moving some how tap on them and see of you could hear a hollow sound or you did not bush the grout in real good between the tiles

Sounds like the grout was mixed to dry.. You will probably have to remove all of it and start over. After grout is installed and tile is buffed clean, it is a good idea to mist the grout three times a day for three days. This will make the grout cure slower and become harder. I find it is better to use the dry grout that is mixed with water. The pre-mixed grout seems to crack and shrink while drying. I have been remodelong for 20 years and learned from experience. good luck
