What is the point of double locking a lock? If a thief is able to pick a lock that has been locked only once, is he not able to pick a double locked lock? How much more secure is a double locked lock?

Well, the thing a theif relies on most is time, in and out quickly. The longer they try to get in, the less time they will have to steal whatever it is they want.

A wise man once said that locks were just for honest people.
If they really want to get in they will find a way.
A double lock would only make it 'a little harder'.

Well, it's DOUBLE locked, so that would make it TWICE as secure, if my calculations are correct.

If you're referring to handcuffs...double locking prevents them from tightening further.
