I’m 22, my co-worker is in the 40’s and married with kids. He is always telling me that he cares for me and loves me and wanting to do things for me. I have made it Clear that there could be nothing between us and that I have a boyfriend. My co-worker got a job offer that pays him a lot more and it is a better position than what he has not. He is turning this job down because he says he wants to see me every day. I think that it is a great opportunity for him and he should take it. I’m not sure what to tell him and what else I can do to discourage these feelings he claims he has.

hmm that sounds a bit scary!!

First thing that comes to mind would be to casually go on about how you and your boyfriend are getting married but then that may scare your boyfriend!! (depending on how serious you are).

Otherwise the best thing is to probably just tell him straight out. make it clear to him that you are with another person and he is married and is at a different point in his life where he should be taking good job offers and perhaps you can still stay in touch - as friends.

He obviously likes you for some reason or has a crush on you because you are young and fresh but its a bit uncomfortable to be putting up with this in the work place and you need to just say straight out where you stand in his life - as colleague and thats all.

All the best :)

Tell him that you will go to your HR department and report him if he does not stop. He is creating a hostile work environment for you that you sholdnot have tolerate.

The only thing that you can do is to tell him clearly that you're not interested. Then ignore him.
