Well, you can open the file in PowerPoint, and go to File/Save As. Then choose the file type: "Save As a Slideshow PPS file".
Or, simply rename the PPT file for PPS. This will work just fine!
(You can make the reverse way too: rename the PPS presentation for PPT and edit in PowerPoint)

You simply open the PPT file with Powerpoint, then use the SAVE AS option (under File...) to Save As a Slideshow PPS file.

well open the file and save it as another file in your case, it was powerpoint presetation save it as a show file instead. failing that find a powerpoint show thingy... and if that doesnt work torch the flipping thing!
