I read this once in a magazine and it really helps. Pedialyte!!!! I'm sure you have heard of it. It's the drink you give to children when they are sick from dehydration. Which for us partiers is a hang over.
I tried the plain stuff it was sort of gross but if you get the flavored stuff it isn't bad.
My dog was near death after getting into the garbage and eating raw chicken scraps. I gave her some and she was perfect after.
Take a couple of Advil a glass of Pedialyte and a nap and you should feel good as new.
Also before you go out and do some heavy drinking again take milk thistle. You can find it in the vitamin section at the groecery store. Here is what I found to help describe it's benefits.

Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) has been used since Greco-Roman times as an herbal remedy for a variety of ailments, particularly liver problems. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries physicians in the United States used milk thistle seeds to relieve congestion of the liver, spleen, and kidneys. Today, several scientific studies suggest that active substances in milk thistle (particularly silymarin) protect the liver from damage caused by viruses, toxins, alcohol, and certain drugs such as acetaminophen (a common over the counter medication used for headaches and pain; acetaminophen, also called paracetamol, can cause liver damage if taken in large quantities or by people who drink alcohol regularly.)
Many professional herbalists recommend milk thistle extract for the prevention and/or treatment of various liver disorders including viral hepatitis, fatty liver associated with long term alcohol use, and liver damage from drugs and industrial toxins such as carbon tetrachloride.

There is no real cure for a hangover...but lots of liquids help. Drink plenty of water and some juice if you can stand it. One Ibuprofen or your general painkiller of choice may help if the headache is killing you...do not overdose because your body is still weak from the alcohol, and that can damage your liver as well.

As for the nausea, if that accosts you, *eat*. Stay away from oily foods...anything fried or heavy in fat will just make you feel worse, or cause you to vomit. Foods heavy in carbs and protein are your best bet...IE a simple sandwich. My personal preference for days when I'm hungover is a French Dip...(roast beef on a french roll with au jus on the side). Honestly, anything that sounds appealing when you're hungover is a safe bet. Your body instinctly craves what it needs, so go with the flow.

That's about it..so feel better!

Take this from someone who has had thousands of hangovers and will probably have one tomorrow.
Anything high in vitamin C works good the day after. If your able too, take a couple of aspirin and drink a few glasses of water before you pass out.
then the next day, try and drink a glass or two of orange juice or V-8 juice.
But ultimately, time and rest and fluids are what it takes if you over do it too much.

before a drinking binge, drink plenty of water. Not LOTS, just plenty. You gotta leave room for the booze. After you have drank too much, try a simple alka-seltzer. I know you aren't supposed to have aspirin after consuming too much alcohol, but it works sometimes. Also, a sports drink helps replenish your bodies fluid levels. I heard that your spinal fluid diminishes when drinking too much and that causes your medullah oblonggottagotosleepcuzmyheadispounding to hurt. So, basically it sounds like water and some nutrients to help your body absorb the liquid is the way to go.

Eastern Europeans always pour out a shot of vodka and add some freshly ground black pepper and knock it back. They say it Fixes the stomach too! In Ireland we just drink a lot of tea and have a high cholesterol breakfast. Sausages, Toast, Baked Beans, Bacon and then have more tea! Works for me!

hot tea, lots of real sugar
a teaspoon of ginger (the stuff you bake with will do). Wash that down with the hot tea (nasty tasting stuff but it'll help nausea and headache).
protein with a simple carb---cheeseburger, pizza, etc.
heating pad wrapped around the head
sleep
and..if all else fails...a shot of the "hair of the dog that bit ya"---ie, take a shot of booze. Your brain is in alcohol withdrawal, so like any good junkie, it needs a little sometin-sometin to straighten up.

The reason you're hung over is because alcohol causes dehydration ie. a bad headache, so drink plenty of water (and of course take some tylenol)

Drink water before you go to bed(easier said than done)

Drink lots of water when you wake up.

Get oxygen into your blood stream. Exercise helps if you can do it, or breath pure Oxygen if you can get it.

Get a little bit of the hair of the dog.
