I'm looking specifically at Gold's but imagine it is similar for all health clubs. Anyone work at a club selling memberships before?

Yes, yes, yes. I had many year's experience selling gym memberships.

The best time of the year to join is in mid November -- right before the holidays start. The gyms know they will get a huge influx of new members in January with all the New Year's resolutions, so prices go up in January. However, nobody joins (or very, very few people join) right before they are going to indulge in all the holiday merriment. So, they are much more willing to cut you a deal in November or December.

I agree with Shanequin ... Right now.. gyms are packed.. People trying to work off the lbs. they "packed" on during the holidays. Wait a few months and the members will trickle away.. Golds Gym is a more serious gym and it's members tend to work out year round. I enjoyed Gold's for years Don't wait to join get in before spring starts..

I would say mid winter because everyone is eating and staying inside.....and here comes the holidays you fatten yourself up......The first of the year people make resolutions and most likely losing weight will be one of them so they join a gym to get their bodies ready for the spring/summer.
