An eagle is a power hunter, they glide and circle at high altitudes looking for prey then stoop and tail chase. Once the eagle has got hold of their prey they use the power in thier feet to crush the skull. A Golden Eagle can exert up to a ton and a half of preassure in the ball of each foot.
My partner has had his arm broken by a Tawny Eagle which are a lot less powerful.
Our Golden Eagles hunt hare, fox and Deer.

Well an eagle is also known very well for its sharp eyes. It finds its prey from a very high distance which is not so easy by other birds.

Oh man it is the coolest thing to watch! We watched on for hours on a Lake Michigan beach one day last summer....he (or she, who knows!?) would fly from the highest perch in the tree waaaaaay out on the lake, til you couldnt see him anymore with your eyes...and then he'd come back with a HUGE fish, I mean we're talking GINORMOUS in his talons!
We actually did get to see him DIVE straight from the sky and NAIL a fish--what a sight!
And then he's on the beach, a bit away from us, chowing down, pulling with the beak, scratching with the huge talons and every so often he'd look our way and open his beak and HISS at us. What a thrill!
