I was waiting for that.
They didn't die to prove a point. The died while remaining loyal to Jesus. There is a difference; you must ask to whom the point was proven. Refusing to renounce Jesus under threat of death is not the same as saying, "I am going to prove a point," it is more like a conviction that cannot be shaken.

No it's not silly it's for the greater good of all people. Martin Luther King Jr. died to prove that he would die before cooperating with injustice and racist oppression. What point were the disciples making? I think Jesus was proving that he practiced what he preached about loving your enemy, and turning the other cheek. he would have been a hypocrite to fight back.

It is silly to die to prove a point unless you actually believe it. These disciples of Christ actually saw him resurrected so they couldn't in good conscience refute this fact.

The Apostles, and other disciples didn't die to prove a point. They died because they would not deny their Lord. Frankly, if we are eternal, and we are, why would you want to stay here if you knew you were going to heaven?

They didn't die to prove a point. Nobody volunteered to die. They were put to death for preaching about Jesus.

I don't know if they really were hoping they would die, but I know they weren't going to deny their Lord, no matter what the cost. And, if I read my Bible correctly, they are 12 of the 24 elders sitting on thrones in heaven. God did reward them, as He will anyone that dedicates their life to Him.
