Who (and why) proposed the idea for a transportation system from Argentina to Alaska?

I think it is related to the Dictionary.com Word of the Day, Wednesday, February 21, 2007 hoi polloi - noun: The common people generally; the masses. But others gradually revised the idea to benefit the selfish.

Was it first proposed in 1923?

By transportation system hopefully you mean the Pan American Highway. It was supposed to be a railroad but that idea was shelved.

The individual, I don't know but the concept of a road highway such as that began at the Pentagon and in the US government and the Canadian government in Ottawa Canada.

The idea was discussed in the 1930's Depression era as a good makework project but nothing came of it.

The first real motivation for the construction and maintenance of the highway was the War in the Pacific in World War II and then later during the Cold War. The first leg of this Pan American Highway was the Alaska Highway which stretched from Edmonton Canada to Fairbanks Alaska.

While it turned out to be militarily unnecessary the route proved to be a commericial success. And the logic to that success led to an evolution of the concept of a Pan American Highway system from the top of the Americas to the southern.

The development of this was more evolution by commercial conventions discussions and international agreements than any single force. The drag on the completion of the Pan American Highway(s) has been political interference, revolution, finances and of course terrain.

The most expensive and difficult area to finish the highway was the notorious Darien Gap in Panama.

I don't know who came up withe the idea, but you can bet it is another ploy by the one world gov proponents.who are mostly Zionist or some other stupid politician who thinks he will be awarded a high position should this succeed, they don't realize there are only x amount or slots available so they will probable be in the same class as the rest of us will be and that is the slave bracket, I for one will fight this one world gov, until death, even tho it is predicted in the bible,that was written over 2000 years ago, but, there is no god haven't you heard, hummmm?strange how Jesus predicted things that would happen in the future, and so many people don't believe he ever existed, yet this dumas Nostradamus predicts some thing after it happens and you have throngs of people who will believe in him and swear he was a genius or some kind of prophet?? would I be right if I said there is something wrong with this picture?
