MAC by far, it gives a glamorous look and stays on GREAT. It is pretty pricey(like 12 dollars an eye shadow), but lasts a long time

Well, if price doesn't matter, the absolute best foundation is the ERA spray foundation by Classified Cosmetics. It's actually the foundation that Carmindy uses on "What Not to Wear" and the difference in people's complexions on the show alone is night and day.

I also know people who use it and will never go back to any other foundation. It's about $55 a can.

As far as other cosmetics, I'm very fond of Stila's eye shadows. In my opinion, it's the best out there. I especially love that you can pick different shadow colors, and buy a compact and create your own color pallet. Dior also has some good shadows and blushes. One Stila eye shadow is about $16, and they can be found at any Sephora store, or sephora.com.

I'm a Stila fan myself. They have the BEST under eye concealer.

MAC has a variety of makeup lines to fit your individual needs.
No other makeup offers you so many variations.
I have tried every brand out there and wish I had known about MAC earlier on.

For dry skin - try the moistureblend line
For a real made up look - try the studio fix

Whether to go with the compact or the liquid depends on your own preference.

I would recommend visiting a MAC store when they aren't so busy and ask them to introduce all of their lines to you.

Being a makeup freak, and having tried almost every brand out there, i love Benefit and Too Faced. everyone seems to say MAC but i never liked it because it was too thick.

The best kind you get at places like Walmart or a drugstore would be Max Factor. And at Big department stores like Macy's, Belks, Would be Elizabeth Arden

honestly it all depends on what your buying. Certain products are all made the same.
some good ones i like are.
MAC is always good...you cant go wrong.
Clinique makes a great powder.
for Mascara...Lancome, Max Factor or Dior.
You should spend more on things that go on your skin like powder, blush and shadow...and less on mascara and lip gloss because its pretty much all the same.

i dont know if i've found one. it depends on what your looking for. mascara, i like maybelline XXL lash better than even really expensive brands. Blush, Loreal. Concealer, revlon. For foundation, i like the neutrogena sheer coverage stuff. hope that helps. ooh and lipstick, i like MAC and smashbox tokidoki in drammatica.
