to lose the gut you must do cardio, situps is to tone your abs after you lose fat from your stomach, if you really want to lose a gut u must change your eating habits too. my trainer tells me all the time is 80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise.

Don't do situps to lose a gut. First off, you need cardio to lose fat. You need to get your blood flowing and go until you're out of breath and keep going! The way fat goes on is in order. Say you gained 18 lb. It goes in order, 10 to your belly, 5 to buttocks and 3 to hips. It would come off in the opposite order, 3 to hips, 5 to buttocks and 10 to belly. You're going to need to work off the fat.
Second, situps can make your gut bigger. When your exercise and make your muscles bigger, they are stuck under a layer of fat on the top and will get bigger but not show, making you look fatter. it's happened to me. You have to lose the fat,l not gain the muscle. Everyone has abs, you just need to lose the fat on to. Cardio, cardio, cardio.
