google them, although i doubt they would still be very popular or work on vista or xp

This site is excellent for old games.
You can join up and download games which have beeen released to the public domain.

If you want to go even further back , look for a spectrum emulator and you will find thousands of programs to run on that.
Also consider the Acorn emulator (Red Squirell),
The bbc emulator (several out there) and the Amiga emulator (UAE)
