You can't even get to say "I told you I was serious, son!"

If you cannot convince someone with your words is it not better just to tell them you no longer wish to argue and walk away.

Jesus didn't seem to think so...and neither do his followers.

Yes, it's silly to die to prove a point. Just think of all the points you can prove yourself right on in the future, if you stick around!!!

If you catch yourself where you need to prove a point by dieing or getting badly harmed, then it's better just to have a laugh and realize you got yourself into a jam--it happens to everyone...

Yes it's better to walk away if you can't convince someone with words---you can always find more people to support your side and have them help you persuade. Using methods other than words (like violence) will get you into more trouble...unless the other person is breaking the law or your'e preventing the other person from breaking the law.

Hmm... well yes if I couldn't convince someone then I would walk away, but I think most people that die to prove a point were actually threatened to say what they didn't believe, and I think that is noble that they would not change in the face of a threat.

Yes, it's silly because you'd never know whether the point was proven or not. Or if you did know, you wouldn't be around to gloat.
Sometimes, if you can't convince someone with your words, it's better to turn tail and run.

Yes it is silly. Not worth dying to prove a point. Yes it is better to just walk away.

I suppose it matters on what point you are arguing and why. If you argue merely for ego gratification, no, it would not be worthwhile to die to prove a point.

If you die to prove a point, whose left to make the point or to care?

Patton said the point of war isn't to die for your cause, but to make the other guy die for his.

Depends what the point is. If trying to prove that something is safe then yes it is.
