You need to go to church, Thithe, read the Bible & all to prepare yourself to go to heaven, Its just like any pther thing you take up sports, studies anything, the more often you do it the better qualified you are, so to get really qualified to go to heaven you have to follow what god said, or you will go to hell, atleast for some million centuries.

In order to get to Heaven, yes all we have to do is accept Christ's free gift of Salvation. We must A Admit we are sinners, B Believe that Christ died for our sins and arose the 3rd day, C Confess our sins to Him.
But we are to live a lifestyle that is pleasing to the Lord. While we are here, it is our duty to Seek and Serve the Lord! Once we have found Him and He is in our heart, then the next step is to serve Him and help others come to know Him as well. It is hard to show others the love of Jesus, if we don't read the Bible and follow God's commands.
And who are we to say "Well I'm saved now, so I need not worry about the future of anyone else." Once you come to know Jesus, you want to share that with everyone around you. Life is far better with Jesus being the most important part of your life!
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:14-15

Accepting Jesus as you understand it is incorrect. You must ask yourself what it means to accept Jesus Christ, just as a serious minded person must ask himself what does it mean to confess Jesus Christ is Lord. Jesus said, 'why do you call me Lord and do not do the thngs I say? Jesus Christ is proclaimed to you as King both as a name and a title of a person, it is like asking, do you accept these laws of our country? If you say yes you are held legally responsible, same as if you sign a contract, or better yet if you say yes I do accept, it does mean you are expected to follow the laws not just say you accept. In this society that separates actions from consquences, behavior from responsibuility, sex from its purpose, identities from bodies thus severing vital unions, we have likewise a tendency to divorce our words from action.

because Christ commands us to follow Him.
which not only entails acceptance of Him but that we follow his example.
which the "church stuff" is not a great example of at all.
merely love Jesus, and love others as you love yourself.
