THIS QUESTION HAS BEEN BOTHERING ME FOR A LONG TIME. I THINK ALL FOOD COMMERCIALS, SHOULD BE BANNED AFTER 6PM. I GET SO MAD,WHEN I'M WATCHING TV, THEN A COMMERCIAL COMES ON, AND THE FOOD LOOKS SO GOOD, THAT YOU WANT TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT, ALSO THEY NEED PE, OR GYM CLASSES, IN ALL GRADES, IN SCHOOL. GOOD QUESTION ***

Obesity is a two part condition. There's genetics. And there's environment.

From a lifetime's worth of experience, I can tell you with absolute certainty that it takes tons of willpower to NOT eat fast food. Most people do not have the kind of willpower required to do this in the long run.

The human body is genetically designed to be extremely efficient with food. Your body keeps reserves of fats in preparation for famine. This is one of the key points that proved that humans evolved.

Some people can eat whatever they want and never get fat. Others can only approach a near-healthy BMI (body mass index) by going on highly restrictive diets for months. There is a very clear genetic factor to obesity.

I think the way to control obesity in America (and all over the world for that matter) is to:

*Give large corporations like McDonald's, Wendy's etc. a hard time with expenses, such as taxes, in combination with restricted marketing.

*Design an entirely new class of drugs that are safe to use and induce safe weight loss. An additional goal would be for this new class of drugs to be very inexpensive, so that people don't have to bend over backwards just to preserve their health (as is the case with all types of medications today)

Everyone knows that eating McDonald's is, by far, not the healthiest choice in any diet. Yet, people do it.

The restrictions our government can place on these companies will be fought tooth and nail by corporate lawyers, at the very minimum tying the issue up in court for years. Lawyers, especially corporate lawyers, are extremely educated and motivated. They are aware of all the loopholes and quickly call any restriction of their product's marketing or sale "unconstitutional".

Also, remember that fast food is not the sole cause of obesity.

If people cannot fight the temptation and you still want to control obesity in America, pharmacological intervention will be necessary. This will get to the root of the problem.

Obesity won't be cured until the cost of things in this country reduces significantly. The problem is that (generally speaking) it is so expensive to live these days that both parents usually have to work.

When they get home from work, neither one wants to cook. So they take the easy way out and order something or go out to eat.

This is America. You want to control people's weight ? For their own good , maybe.

Hitler had a similar concept. He saw the importance of maintaining a healthy body and ordered exercise in school. He Tried to stop all smoking too.Not good for the Aryn body.He sought perfection.
And while he was advocating healthy lifestyles, he decided to murder well over 11 million people. They weren't perfect , the way he wanted things.
You need to think about that when you decide to limit and monitor people's weight or what goes into their mouths. It is not your concern.
The diet industry in the US makes zillion of dollars a day on weight loss promises that only reduce the size of our wallets. How are you going to deal with that ?

Now.. Back to my Mac and Cheese.

unfortunately obesity in America is a weighty subject.
we Americans are hard working intelligent people who are as any people lazy and easily tricked.
we don't know where or how or what our foods come from (Solvent Green) and don't care as long as it TASTES good.
we zombie-ize our kids with more info in one month than my grandparents got in one year.
we eliminate physical activities as a means to conveince and safety. how often do you use the stairs? or walk to the grocery?
we hide inside to miss all the boggey men the news 'talking heads' tell us that out out there hunting us.
the under educated and financially poor are feed the cheap bottom scraps cause quality costs up front.
with my clients we can check their zipcodes and have a real idea of financial and health problems.
we need to bring the fight for peoples health(wealth) to them one person at a time over over over again.
becoming Obese is easy, you do it one day at a time with out making a thought about it. helping people change from reactive life to proactive is the constant challenge.
the best way to help change this is one pound at a time toward change.

You cannot control advertising but you can control the amount of tv your kids watch. You can contol what you feed your kids. I think you should decrease or eliminate the amount of highfroctose conrsyrup and trans fat you give kids. Give lots of veggies and friut as snacks. Don't give up on healthy food if they don't accept it right away. Eat the healthy foods you want your kids to eat as well. Get out of the house more and play with your kids.
We as adults need to set the examples for our kids. Corporations only advertise what people keep wanting and consuming.

approximately 2 thirds of united statesa. is obese. What the hell. yet i think of the treatment isn't a lot in adopting one new cooking kind - what if i do no longer incredibly look after curry - yet in a lot extra effectual training in what wellness incredibly includes, the magnitude of the main suitable kind of energy, a thank you to artwork out what proportion energy you're eating, and the thank you to maintain a balanced nutrition plan. Oh, and the thank you to cook dinner a minimum of a few of it, just to tutor those that cooking isn't so confusing the two and that they do no longer might desire to flow out for each meal. you do no longer ought to provide up the Maccy D's, in simple terms attempt to easily have one meal there a month, or so, and examine out to no longer order super each thing. it fairly is not rocket technological know-how, yet i'm continuously shocked and saddened by potential of the kind of human beings who in simple terms are not getting it and particularly underestimate the quantity they devour, do exactly no longer care, or are woefully incorrect in a thank you to flow approximately dropping or preserving a healthful weight - "if I incredibly have the salad with my extensive pizza i'm going to be fit!" No you will no longer, you're in simple terms eating a huge pizza and then some extra nutrition. I fairly have faith extra, and extra effectual, training in this regard could be the top concern one ought to do. i used to be incredibly rotund and whilst i desperate to alter I had no theory a thank you to flow approximately it (in spite of the reality that I had an inklink eating much less replaced into in all hazard a reliable start up). And discovering what i replaced into doing led me to wading via a lot pseudoscience, flat out scams, and nonsense it fairly is not even humorous. there's a adverse dearth of available concepts whilst in comparison with each and all of the BS that surrounds the subject count.
