I suffer from a chronic constipation, and I have yet to find a laxative that fully rids me of my constipation woes. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this constiaption? And soon?

stay away from the laxatives! They are not good for prolonged use. So if you aren't getting relief from laxatives now, then continual use of them will only damage your colon.

Try an alternative. I use colon cleansers frequently. I've tried numerous kinds and the one that I've found that works the best for me is OxyPowder. I've even gone on and recommended it to my family and friends, and all of them have had success with it as well.

Anyways, there are different colon cleansers out there and everyone's body is different. But I highly recommend you give OxyPowder a try.

I included a link below, to where I order mine from. Hope this helps. Good Luck To You!

All of these can cause constipation:
Low fiber diet
Dehydration
Decreased mobility
Medications, especially narcotics (e.g., Codeine), tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., Elavil), and Verapamil
Colonic lesions, e.g., Colon Cancer
Hirschsprung's disease
Hypothyroidism
Low Potassium level
Low Calcium level
Diabetic gastroenteropathy
Parkinson's disease
Multiple Sclerosis
Rectal fissure, Abscess, or hemorrhoid
Previous radiation treatment to the area

Treat the underlying cause
Increase dietary fiber, i.e., eat whole grain breads and pastas. Increase fresh fruit and vegetable intake.
Eat supplementary bran, either in cereal or flakes supplemented to food
Prune juice or prunes
Psyllium fiber -- whole husk-type found in health food stores is more effective than processed forms (Metamucil), but either may be tried. Take with complementary amount of liquid.
Stool softeners, e.g. doculasate sodium (Colace) are helpful
Senekot is a natural stimulant laxative
Lactulose by prescription
Magnesium Citrate for severe constipation (should not be taken by those with kidney disease)
Polyethylene glycol solution (GoLYTELY) for severe constipation
Mineral oil
Enemas -- fleet or tap water for typical constipation, and mineral oil enema for hard or impacted stool

One of the reasons the laxatives may not be helping you, is because you fail to increase your fluid intake with them. If you are adding bulk to your diet, or taking a laxative that adds bulk, like Metamucil, then you must increase your fluid intake for these to work. There are also some natural things that you can do to avoid constipation. One is to increase your fruit intake. Apples are one of Gods' best natural bowel programs. Also, water melon, oranges, tangerines, prunes and grapes. Of course, drinking plenty of fluid and exercises always works great. Good luck!

Forget the laxatives, they do more harm than good. Sounds like you need a colon cleanse. Check out

I have IBS and have the same issues. What works best for me is exercising.... walking / jogging/ climbing everyday and making sure I get adequate water and fiber in my diet all the time. The medications are only for people who are not taking care of themselves. If you live a healthy lifestyle, you will not need Citrucel! If you need a natural remedy, try eating dried plums. Five or six with a big glass of water should get things moving. It works for me everytime. Good luck -- I know how painful it is!

You need to figure out which foods are making you constipated, and stop eating them.

Drink pear or pineapple juice. You can even do a mixture of sprite with prune juice.
