I go to one of the best schools in the US and the only reason being because i want to make my parents happy. i really dont want to go here and i dont know how to tell my parents that because they [along with my family] are proud of me. i also would feel like i didnt accomplish anything...

Talk to one of the campus counselors before you go jumping off of the deep end. Also, if you change schools...are your folks still going to help you out? You do really need to do what is best for you and as long as you stay in school I am sure that your parents will be proud of you. Maybe they are a little misguided by the status your current school hold...just remind them that you can get a GREAT education at almost any uni!!!

Maybe suggest another school that they might like just as much. Have some really good reasons lined up and present your case. Then they will know that you sill want to be accomplished, just not at that particular school.

Okay, well this kinda sounds like me... doing things just so I can make someone happy or to say I did it... if it doesn't make you happy 4get it! In the end nothing will matter if you don't follow YOUR dreams... so tell your parents the way you feel, if they care about YOU then they will understand, i promise!

If you don't want to go there than tell your family. They may get mad at first but they will always be proud of you no matter what. If you explain your reasons to them it might help them understand.
