Mostly its hormones (testosterone) A very powerful hormone that gives people there sex drives. A guy once excited will tell a girl anything they want to hear, if it will get him in her pants. Women have it to, but in smaller amounts. Doctors give it to women who's sex drive has lessened or disappeared.
Another answer is peer pressure. Other guys will ask them, did you do her yet?
With the above in mind, don't always be so easy to believe a young guy when he says he loves you etc. Let him prove he loves you in other ways.
