Why is GMarket so popular? Is it popular in other Asian countries?

G-market is a internet shopping mall like an amazon. in korea t here are many internet shopping mall like Gmarket, interpark, auction, etc.. those are famous mall in Korea.
there r many reasons of gmarket for being popular.
i think its commercial marketing strategy that make popular and pretty celebrity use in cause it's popularity.
but i have no idea that it's popular in other asia countries..

It's convenient and in Korean. Why wouldn't it be popular? And yes it is getting bigger in other countries. Have a look:
