I joined eharmony- and I must be very compatible, because in the month before I became a paid member, and the month after, I've gotten over 200 matches.BUT, most of them are creeps!I mean, they have a prison photo posted, or no pic at all.OR in their profile, the don't give hardly any real answers to the questions, and a few guys even said "I'm passionate about "F----", or "I like my woman to be hot and ready to clean my house".OR "I'm most thankful for my best friend who can party like no other MOFo", or "I aint got no favorite book, but I like that one movie where the girl looks real fine", and other stupid stuff.I don't understand why they keep matching me with these idiots.I mean, I thought all the profiling stuff was supposed to weed out the whackos.Has anybody had good dates or encounters other than the "OMG we met and it was so great and now we're engaged" crap on the commercials? I mean, has anyone had a nice coffee date with a non-creep and started dating or become friends?

To Cdub or whatever your name is- I have a perfectly intact set of social skills. I'm a professional and very busy, and I just don't have time for going out and spending all the energy looking for someone. I have a friend who met her husband through another online dating site, but that site seemed too full of whackos too. It just seems to me, that if I'm a fairly attractive, intelligent, and friendly woman, that would give online dating a go, there should be some equally attractive, intelligent and friendly man out there who would try it too. I'm just looking for some evidence of that theory by asking this question. Because so far, my experience is proving me wrong.

To matt, no I don't want a jerk. Actually I think my problem is, my personality profile says that I get along with lots of different people, and I have an open mind. Which is true to an extent. In my job I have to get along with all kinds of characters- and I appreciate different lifestyles and points of view. But I do have a set of ideals and principles for myself, and just because that includes tolerance, doesn't mean I would tolerate a jerk being my boyfriend.

Basically, I think because I'm so open and compatible- they're sending me all the rejects that no one else could match with.

Wow! You have had quite a time with them, haven't you?

I have had a positive experience with eHarmony myself -- I am currently seeing a person I have met there for over a year (and she is really, really a great person), but not before I have had to weed out countless other, shall I say, less desirable ones. Hey, the one I am seeing currently has had her own share of nightmares herself!

I've been out there in the dating world for quite a while, so I can say with certainty that, truth be told, you WILL have to meet your share of undesirables before you find the one that is right for you. That is an unescapable fact whether it is through eHarmony or other cyber-dating sites or even old-fashioned person-to-person encounters.

Dating, after all, is simply the act of meeting people socially in order to find the one you would want to spend your life with, is it not?

I have been talking online at a few different sites, and have met 2 of the guys. Guess what they are not what they say. Don't know why they can't be honest. I am going to keep trying, but my hope is diminishing.

Are you sure those guys are not what you are looking for? After all they keep matching you up with those jerks, maybe you want a jerk in a relationship? I think eharmony is very good at finding someone that you will like. I think you are turned on by jerks, you just can't admit it. Many women are attracted to jerks, even though they won't admit it. Maybe you are just looking for quick sex too and not a relationship? Why else would eharmony keep matching you up with jerks? What does your personality profile say?

The commercials aren't true? I'm shocked. Make sure your profile is as complete and detailed as possible. Try to avoid dating pedophile rapists. I joined e-harmony for awhile but got nowhere. Some have allegedly had better luck, but I haven't see it.

What the hell do you expect? If you lack the necessary social skills to go out in society to meet an individual then unfortunately for you, on-line dating is your only choice.
