He told me if I promised not to tell anyone he would pay me. He is an accountant so how much should I charge him? Im thinking $1000, should i ask for more?

$1000-$1500. Sounds about right, sorry but $5000 may send him running to his wife to tell her himself. Then once the check clears tell his wife anyway, but I wouldn't mention the payoff.

If it were me in your shoes, I'd tell my parents.
Or you could ask for the 5000 and if he rejects it (it IS sort've steeply priced) then see what happens. Though, you might want to be protective just in case he's murderous.

I think that you should forget that you ever saw anything! If I were he, and you threatened me with blackmail as you have done to him, your life would be in SERIOUS jeopardy. No amount of $$$ will keep you from consorting with the worms if you wake up dead......

Do not trust him, remember you caught him cheating on his wife, some situations are much too dangerous to be involved in. Please talk to your parents before you do anything drastic. This is for your protection. This jerk could hurt you, who knows.

the wife should know.....if it were reversed and she was the one who caught your husband in a theatre getting frisky you would want to know im sure...money isnt nothing when you tarnish your reputation
