If you eat, it increases your metabolism temporarily. I also know that exercise can affect your metabolism long term, like weight training. Would going for a run do the same thing to your metabolism as eating a granola bar would?

Running will significantly increase your metabolism... Eating a granola bar has a minimal effect.

sorry, girl, ya got it all wrong. matabolism CANNOT be changed. matabolism is just the amount of calories can take at a time. for example, a naturally thin gal must have a high metabolism because she could eat and eat and still not gain weight, like me! but what u can do is eat right and excersize to keep healthy. however, you cannot change your metabolism.
