Don't go solid. Find drapes with at least 3 colors: brown, beige (pulling colors from walls and couch) and whatever accent color(s) you like, such as blue, gold and/or burgundy. These color combinations are found in striped or jacquard fabrics. Pull the third/forth color(s) from the drapes into throw pillows, accent chairs and rugs. Have fun. Oh, and hang your drapes near the ceiling, it adds height and drama to any room.

I did my living room in beige and brownish colors as well. I have alot of gold things as well. So I have accents of maroon to set it all off. It actually works out very well. The curtain are a deep color and have beautiful tie backs for the day when I want light to come in and are dark enough that the creepy neighbors cant see thru at night. Try it out you might find the color looks really good.

Shades of blue look great with tan and brown. Go to Walmart or Target and get some free paint samples in tan, brown and various shades of blue. Then match them to the color of your couch and walls, then try putting different shades of blue next to them and I'm sure you'll find something you like. Good luck.

I would go with a dark red - not maroon or burgundy or wine - too much purple. I think it would add some color and become a nice focal point for the eye.

Since your couch is brown and your walls are beige (but you don't want anything dull) then personally I would suggest something teal, turquoise or apple green.Otherwise linen would be nice & classy.
If you can do with just a day curtain then it's nice to have those colours in light, something like chiffon material.Currently,I'm sewing one myself(in teal),adding little beads here and there just for fun!LOL!!

Ikea has some nice curtains.Saw this nice turquoise one 'SARITA' ~

Have fun & good luck! ;)

Being as your walls and furniture are neutral you could do almost anything. I'd recommend trying a shade of red or gold. White would also look nice.

But you do want something that will work with all the colors-something more neutral without any real pattern. Maybe a lighter tan color?

i would go with a pattern - maybe cinnamon and cream - something with a burnt orange kind of color scheme - paprika, cinnamon, orange, pumpkin - pop in some bright orange pillows for the sofa.

i'd pass with fuchsia curtains adverse to the orange wall to assist save the room jointly. also... in case you could't substitute your carpet per chance you should get a large section rug to assist cover the carpet & tie the room jointly.
