My wife, daughter, and I live with my mother-in-law and she is insane; my wife constantly tells me to just put up with her "you know how she is thing", but I think that is BS. She swears and name calls in front of daughter no less. After my wife and I got out of the military we planned on staying there until we finished college well I graduated a year ago and my wife graduates in the spring and has no intentions of leaving.

I would tell your wife that you married her and not her mother, put it in her court to make a decision. If this does not work, I would get a room for awhile. The last thing you need is someone who swears around your daughter, as long as you live in her house she will continue to do what she wants. I do not understand your wife not wanting to leave.

Time to leave or make a plan to do so fast. Talk to your wife and agree on next steps. You can't stay there. If she insists on stating there, then tell her in no uncertain terms that you will not stay and it is unhealthy for your child. Explain to your M-in-law that you appreciate her generosity and understand the strain it's caused having you there, so it is time to move out. If your wife insists on staying, you may need to leave her.

Its going to tear you apart trust me i just got out of a relationship because my girl wouldnt stand up to her mom and it eats you alive dude. Thing is my exs mom hated me because I served in the marine corp and was a combat vet. She seid i was going to kill myself because of this fact. Get away from the mother.

well, you could find out why she hates you just sit down with her and tell her how you feel because in front of you child her swearing is out or order!
try to be nice to her (I'm sure you are) just try to be even nicer the day you sit down and talk to her
