If this were a just war, I would say too bad, thats war. This war was a mistake and a lie. American and Iraqi lives are being wasted for nothing. Nothing. I too am ashamed at this govt of draft dodgers acting tough like they know war or adversity of any kind. HA ! Paris Hilton can relate to GW, but I can't. I'm a working man who is accountable for my own actions. Sorry Iraqis, your family members would still be alive and well if we didn't come to your "rescue".

i was in eastern ramadi from the end of may 06 to late october 06. the town is called tammim, its a provence or ramadi. its like brooklyn to nyc. theres nothing to be ashamed of. that city is the most violent city in iraq next to baghdad. the insurgents use women and children to spy, plant ieds, hide weapons and do other dirty things. the city is all sunni and everyone knows when something is going down there, sometimes there are casualitys there that are innocent people. its not americas fault or the terrorists fault. it just happens.
our colonel accidentally called in a bombing raid on a family party in the street killing and wounding all sorts of people. body parts everywhere. stuff happens, thats just how it is

I think that only who really loves his country and the values on which it is based can understand that you are ashamed because this kind of things are not deign of your countrybecause of the high consideration you have for your country....because this things are against the values you can find in all free countries' constitutions since your(USA) declaration of Independence(right, freedom, justice, dignity....ecc).
Who ignores this kind of things or think that are not bad, and don't think that to enhance your country this things should be avoided, don't do a good service for his own country.
I'm Italian and I was not ashamed when i saw a video that showed Italian soldiers and Carabinieri shooting(during fighting) at armed insurgents in Nassirya, but I was ashamed when I saw photos of some Italian soldiers torturing some prisoners in Somalia('92), something similar to what some US soldiers did in Abu Graib prison but in smaller scale.

What kind of American is ashamed of their country?
It's been through wars and and battles that people have died from that allows you to be free to say what you feel. This sounds like another Dixie Chicks syndrome. maybe you should go over to Ramadi and see what kind of a welcome you would receive. Ask the terrorists there about the many women and children that they have raped and killed to save their own empty souls. How they torcher their own people everyday. Maybe you should rethink your position as a U.S. citizen. You can hate war, but ashamed of this country???

Do you think that the bad guys would give a s**t about our women and children??? Didn't think so. Listen, war is hell, been there done that..... Two tours in Nam. When you attack a village, the bad guys will use women and kids as shilds. What are you going to do????Wait until they have killed off most of your troops??? Didn't think so. And if your ashamed about this, you sure wouldn't make it in the military. And you sure don't know much about the WW1 and WW2 histories. Remember Pearl, ???? Rmember the Nazi machine. Maybe your too young to know, that in war, it's every man for himself and his unit. Semper Fi. Kill em all.

you say "However, the United States says that is ok as long as it is for freedom." got anything to back that up? You quoting someone or just adding your 2 cents? Collateral Damage happens, and those insurgents kill civilians also with their attacks... grow up, war sucks and innocents always get hurt when combat takes place in civilian areas

Because you are a liberal who does not understand that war is Hell and the insurgents are cowards who have no respect for the civilian population. They are such cowards that they use women and children as shields (when they are not killing and maiming them with suicide bombings). As you know, they do this on a regular basis. They are despicable, so maybe it is about time you place blame where it belongs (with the terrorist scum).

If you live in the US, and you can not accept the idea that we have to fight wars in order to respect your freedoms and to maintain them so you can live here in the society you do, and as well as your children, and your kids children and so forth...then you can might as well move to Canada for all I care. WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT IRAQI INSURGENTS? Hello?? You are an american. American soldiers die each and everyday for you, and yet you are ASHAMED of Iraqi insurgents dying? Wow you are thick...and you should be ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. Maybe you should walk down to a veterans center or talk to a child who has lost a father or mother or brother or sister in this war, and let THEM tell you THEIR story...and maybe then you'll understand.

Because you have never been in the Military, never been in a war, never fought in a battle, never fought in an urban battle, and will never understand that although unfortunate, civilian casualties will happen. There is a war and whether you like it, accept it or not, death occurs on all sides, anywhere anytime.
