Oh, the irony. But seriously, limit your carbs, and the carbs you do eat make sure you tend to eat them in the morning. Eat protein more towards the end of the day. And eat little and often. Have breakfast (oats or porridge is excellent). Then mid-morning maybe have some microwaveable brown rice and tuna. Then at one or two o'clock have some more. Then at four or five have some chicken or something. Then in early evening eat some more protein and vegetables. Try not to eat after about eight o'clock.

A lot of the time it's not necessarily what you eat but how much of it you're eating. A general rule of thumb though is that you should try and only eat things which are less than 5% fat (with the exception of small portions of oily fish and nuts which contain essential oils and vitamins - eat max 2 portions a week of each).

It can really help to keep track of the number of calories you consume as well though because even if you're eating healthy food if you eat too much you still won't lose weight. The RDA of calories for the average woman is about 2000 so if you cut that back to about 1500 calories and stick to the 5% fat rule you should start to see the weight drop off. (I'm a 20 year old female currently weighing about 11 stone and i've been losing a pound a week for the last few months just by following those 2 rules)

Exercise is really important for health and keeping fit but it's not a great way to shed pounds, not all on its own.

To loose one pound of weight a week, by exercise alone, you would have to run approx 28 miles.

I see another answer is to join weight watchers, i did and lost 3 1/2 stone, ww is just a healthy eating plan, similar to low gi diets or low fat diets, the only difference is the non judgemental support you get from other people.
If you commit to attend meetings you tend to make the effort to stick to healthy eating - you think twice about having that bag of chips when you know you are getting weighed at the end of the week. Try it, it works and is recommended by doctors

First try exercising in the mornings instead, before you do anything else. Do you really need to go to the gym to exercise?.......Sex is actually a great exercise for the stomach and thigh muscles......
Then for breakfast consume mostly liquids, a cup of tea with toast or orange juice is good. Then wait until about 11 o-clock or so to have lunch....again with at least two cups of liquids and then have your dinner about 5-6 O-clock. After a week you should notice a difference. All the best.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

you might be doing the wrong sort of exercise. try more running. and cycling . less weights , remember muscle is heaver then fat
as for the food bit. try 5 small meals a day. change some meet to fish. change chrisps to nuts or seeds. . dont starve your self. try to eat a little fruit . and try hot water with a bit of lemon in, this cleans the system. a good exercise to try at home is step ups on your stairs, do 50 on one step and 50 using 2 steps , or 3 nights then 60 of each and add 10 each untill you do about 150-200 each night , do this for a few weeks and your legs and *** will look good ..

good luck

Try speed walking as an addition to your other exercise regimes and think about food replacement rather than cutting out food. For example an apple for for chocolate or an orange for coke but don't panic. For permanent results you only need to lose 2lbs a week and remember muscle is heavier than fat but looks so much better.

Seperate your portions so you eat 4-5 smaller meals rather than 3 large meals.
Eat more fruits and veggies and less fatty meats(chicken is a good meat). Stay away from excessive salts, carbohydrates, and calories in foods.
Try and squeeze another day or two of excercise in, and focus on running and cardio excercises.

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

its alright doing all this exercise but you also need to get a balanced diet with fruit, veg, carbs and just a little bit of fat and eat them in a moderate portion. If you do all this excersize and eat lots of junk food then theres no point in doing it because all you will do is either put it all back on or put on even more weight.

You cut out all rubbish food, cakes, crisps, pies, ice cream, sweets, nuts, chocolate, red meat, any fatty or sweet things really. Also excessive alcohol.Look at labels and you might be surprised how many calories some things contain.Buy some basic healthy eating books as opposed to fad books .
