You could get something that represents something he liked to do, or something you did together, his favorite place maybe? When my granmd passed away I got a lily because she loved to garden so that reminded me of her, just think of what he loved to do and enjoyed, then think of what is connected to that and will make you be happy when you think of it.

Find a saying or a picture that really meant alot to him. If he was in the military, find out what his unit had. Get something that he would have gotten. I got one that my best friend had on his forearm just this last year after he died. All of us guys who would have been his groomsmen this summer ended up being pallbearers and got it together. Well, not together together, but you know what I mean.

All I can say is take your time. When you find the right one, it will jump out at you. I would suggest having the tattoo artist design something original for you. And then hang on to it for a couple weeks to make sure you do like it.

you could put his birthdate and the date he died on your arm. Inside a ribbon.
