Im painting my bathroom and I removed the flooring but Im not going to be able to put new flooring down right away. Anyway my question is about painting the floor for the mean time? What kind of paint do I use? How do I prepare the floor? Have you ever done this or had it done? If so, how did it come out?

First clean the floor and make sure that it is safe to walk on as is, since this is a room that you often use with nakie feet. Nail heads, splinters or other damaged areas of the wood, etc.

It probably depends on the condition of the subfloor. My guess is just prime and paint. You might want to mix sand or something in the paint for a non skid surface.

Instead of paint, I would really just use non-skid throw rugs to hide the floor and do a permanent treatment ASAP. Then you don't have to UNDO anything and you will have a reliable surface to work on, that you know will accept whatever adhesive for the permanent solution.

To make it budget friendly so you can fix it sooner, I would go with a basic size, color, and do the work yourself...or shop for salvage pieces, etc and come up with some sort of wacky mosaic pattern in tile (with pieces rounded off, or firmly flattened into the mortar so you don't cut your feet on them) or a patchwork of carpet. It can look cool but you have to do more of the work, and requires a little more creativity.

I'm sure you've got glue residue from your old floor?? If not buy some floor & porch paint. If you do have the glue i'd just throw down some cheap rugs.
