Will the government finally be held to account for lying to the people?

I wouldn't want him or anyone else to get hurt, but he is going to the front line and he will be exposed to the same risks as his men. He will be in command of the unit and when sent out on reccon he will be subject to the same risks. Many officers day in battle Colonel H. died leading his troops on a charge in the Falklands war.

I just thought it seems very ironic that the 3rd in line to the throne is put in harms way by a party that is suppossed to opposed to war in principal and republican by nature.

The posting of HRH Prince Henry to Iraq is polemical. It is laudable for him that, although he could avoid going there (as the son of George Bush Sr. did when faced with a Vietnam posting) he is willing to go despite the risks. However, a military unit is supposed to perform duties other than the protection of its officers. Will that be the case with his squad, or will they be so busy trying to keep him out of harm's way that they will not be an asset to the forces in Iraq? Or even worse, how many of them will face additional risks because he is in their midst?.

I don't think they will solely on the grounds of Harry being injured, killed, or kidnapped... but a lot of people would be very angry about it, and that could be turned into some kind of a weapon against them in the next election. So, the party might suffer... none of the politicians are going to end up looking down the barrel of a gun though, and they won't be fined, or sent to court, I mean, chances are they won't be have to pay any serious dues over the war...

Tuksie you obviously have not been in the service or you would see how insulting your statement is I have been associated with officers right at the front where the action is and some were pretty gutsy guys and let me tell you there are always officers up front as for the brigs and generals they are there too but the action has ceased by then

Government held to account? Come on! Blair will grow a natural afro before he apologises for the Iraq war (the war with a hundred different reasons).
I'm finding it a worrying irony that Blair comes into office and Diana dies, He is on his way out and. . . ?

I hope ALL the soldiers come back to thier loved ones walking, not being carried in flag draped cheap coffins

The Brit powers that are, say that the Prince will not receive any special treatment. I also have some sunny, warm property with palm trees in the front yard in Alaska I want to sell.

Don't worry about him, there'll be so many soldiers around him there is no chance of him taking a hit.
He'll probably be stuck in an office, besides when did officers ever go to the shi**y end of the stick.

the probabilities of him seeing definitely wrestle are likely about an similar as me prevailing the lottery. regardless of if i'm positive they'd try in some unspecified time sooner or later to get him close sufficient to declare he became area of a few wrestle challenge which will pin a medal or 2 on him, type of like John Kerry's pink heart "injuries". ad

What are you on about? Lying?.....if he goes, he runs the risk just as any soldier in the forces, thats why they join....pity they dont enlist some of these gun toting kids, then they can shoot to kill legally!
