Today, my friend from prison came to visit me. He told me about the ways of the lord. He has convinced me that Jesus is the only way. That I should give up my job at the rent-a-center and come preach with him all over so cal. My question, would I be letting my brother down if I said no? More importantly, my religion?

Let me remind you that you can tell others about Jesus no matter where you are. There are souls dying every day because they do not know Jesus. You don't have to go all over preaching although if that appeals to you, you certainly may. You can witness to people right there where you work. But make sure you tell them the truth and not just what the world is teaching. Make sure you know the Bible yourself before trying to teach others.

Well, you would be letting yourself down to stay with Rent A Center. I worked there 5 years, and was let down very badly by the company I had given much of myself to. I know when you're their the money is hard to let go of, but I heartily recommend leaving, you can't enjoy it.

P.S. F*** Tookie, that murdering f***.

If you dont think that god is calling you to preach, then dont. Just pray alot. The quistian is, are you saying no for the wrong reasons. Are you ashamed of God? If this is so, then yes, you would not be fallowing gods heart. IF you dotn think that its your calling, then God must have something else planned for you. I am trully proud of your friend

you have to prepare first, before you take a decision to serve God to be a preacher, you has to know this is serious task and you have to be moral and spiritual in good shape in other way you will die in the desert, because to be a preacher tribulation are so hard. I suggested to go to Bible institute and pray God if is His willing about you decision

Not everyone is called to preach. You can serve your religion in your daily life whatever you decide to do.

I see your dilemma, brother, but you should really have the calling like I did. It would be better if you just came to church every week and testified.

Say Amen!

I had never see in bible that people should quit his job to follow Christ. No religious in the world should tell people quit job or family to follow his steps. Consider deeply before you made dicission.

Not necessarily. You have to do what God wants, not what people think you should do. Your brother will understand, one way or the other. Pray about it.

Of course not. It is not every persons calling to be an itinerant preacher. And I'm sure it is not your friends calling either.
