I'm glad you asked that question. Yes, I have been on Lexapro for almost six months now & I'm happy to report that I have had no side effects whatsoever. I'm on 10 mg. daily also, & I take mine at the same time each night before bedtime. It's very important not to forget to take the Lexapro daily without fail!!! Is it effective? You bet it is, & it doesn't make you sleepy or feel like a Zombie. Just ask my fiance also, on how effective it is. He will tell you that I have made remarkable strides since being on the Lexapro but I can feel the difference too. The doctor told me that it would take me up to three weeks before I noticed a difference in how I felt, but I noticed a big difference in just three days. Lexapro raises the Serotonin levels in the brain & helps curb anxitities for starters. I was very depressed when I went to my doctor for help, & now, in just a short period of time, I feel so much better, & don't cry all the time, & life is good again. I get out & walk daily, weather permitting, & that really helps too. Good luck.....I'm here if you need to ask anything else.

I was sleepy at first and had a dry mouth. I think my stomach hurt a bit too. I have been on it now for 5.5 weeks and got upped to 20 mg a week ago. I didn't feel the 10 mg was helping much, but I feel a lot better on the 20 mg. I still have to take Xanax XR 2mg for panic attacks, so I'm hoping the Lexapro will become more effective and I can ween off the Xanax entirely. I am keeping in very close contact with my doctor about how I feel and he's been very helpful. I have no side effects at all anymore.

The side effect of weight gain is not clinically proven, they think its just because people are feeling better and want to eat more.

I have started a lot of exercise, yoga and deep breathing to supplement my treatment as well. I don't want to be on drugs forever!

Lexapro is a very effective drug when used for common depression. Some of the side effects include: trouble sleeping, headaches, drowsiness, dry mouth, nausea or indigestion, sweating, changes in taste, decreased sexual function or low libido, fever, shakiness or tremors, appetite changes, frequent urination, blurred vision or diarrhea. Most of these go away after taking the medication about a week. If not, you should probably let your doctor know. Some less common, but more serious side effects might include: vomiting, suicidal thoughts, hives or itching, dizziness or lightheaded, feeling confused, or feeling over excited, that you cannot control your actions, or rapid talking. If you have any of these side effects, see your doctor immediately. Also, don't suddenly stop taking this drug once you start. Sometimes you will need to taper off of them.

I have been taking Lexapro 10mg for about a year now.
It has seemed to help me with my anxiety / depression.
The only side effect I have noticed is being more tired than usual, and that I don't have the same drive as I used to (used to I could not sit still, now some days I just don't feel like getting up and doing anything).

whether that isn't any longer bodily making you ill evaluate sticking with it for yet another month yet be warned, the longer you're taking it the greater durable the withdrawal is going to be, and the withdrawal isn't exceptionally or to be taken lightely. the 1st 4-8 weeks would be slightly up and down as your physique tries to alter. as quickly as I first all started on 10mg I felt an insane advance of potential. i became right down to hold out, flow out, not sleep all night, be social and became up for many something that could desire to have freaked me out in the previous. This preliminary burst died down after approximately 2 weeks and then i all started having some disturbingly mind-blowing targets alongside with the occasional abdomen disillusioned, lethargy and a feeling of standard indifferance. i've got been taking Lexapro for a twelve months and it has little doubt dulled my thoughts / motivation to an quantity yet each little thing else leveled out after the two month mark. besides the incontrovertible fact that it additionally helped a lot with my rigidity that i'm no longer complaining ( yet ) What it comes right down to is a commerce off. while you're keen to be a sprint numbed out to no longer experience the melancholy / rigidity you felt in the previous that's nicely worth it. If no longer, attempt something else, yet be careful by way of fact the ideas are constrained. Xanax, valium, and so on... are no longer long term era suggestions and are slightly too relaxing to abuse. After 28 years of doing hand handy wrestle with rigidity i began out to realize it wasn't going away by utilising itself, so Lexapro has accomplished that is job nicely for me. Plus the mind-blowing targets rock ;) yet daaaaamn is it expensive!

I took it for 2 weeks and loved it. I had to stop because I had a bad allergic reaction to it and had an itchy rash all over my body that drove me nearly insane. I even had to miss 4 days of work because of it. I hated to stop it, though, because it made me feel SO much better. Even my husband didn't want me to stop taking it because he could tell the difference in me in only 2 weeks. Good luck with it. I hope it works out better for you.

extremely effective! I haven't noticed any side effects at all, other than occasionally feeling over-corrected (giddy for no reason). this soon passes and hasn't happened anywhere that it would be inappropriate.

good luck!
