This is a man I met recently who for the moment is just a friend. He recently told me he's not sure whether he's ever really been in love. he is in his 30s. I find this quite incredible, especially since he's had the normal run of serious relationships, including live-ins. How do I interpret his statment:
(a) He has some kind of emotional stuntedness and would probably make a bad boyfriend
(b) He isn't really being serious and I should just let it go
(c) He is trying to entice or provoke me somehow

This is a really hard question. I think you have left one option out however.

(d) He hasn't ever really been in love.

I have heard it said that you know when you're in love. I think, without knowing the guy, that may show that he is not wishy washy. I don't know how many people I know who have been through many I love him, I don't love him I love someone else, kinds of things. It could be a fantastic trait, one that could lead to him falling in love with you.

But it is only you who can decide if that trait is good or bad.

Or maybe it's d) He's very serious about that sort of thing and has just never found the right person yet.

I'd rather date a guy who thought he'd never really been in love over some guy who fell in love with every girl he dated.

Usually when u shack up with someone it's because your in love
yet, he claims he's never been really in love. Then why was he
living with them ? This guy sounds like he's incapable of being
emotionally intimate. You would definetly have problems with
getting close with him. He is lacking something.....he has issues

i say neither a b or c id say he liked the people he was dating before but never really loved them. Its not good to say you were in love if weren't. They people he was with before just werent right for him and when he finds the right person he'll kno it even if its not right away and he'll be in love

or maybe he honestly hasn't been in love... he may have thought he was at the time, and then after the relationships are over, he looks back and thinks, "well, I wasn't really in love, was I?" It's definitely feasible that he's never been in love...
