is halfway through I can see they are pink in the middle. I have never eaten meat, fish or chicken in my life but I cook it for him. I know you can cook meat rare, med rare, etc. but do you think he might get sick? He said it isnt cold in the middle and if I remember right as long as the meat gets hot in the middle it should be ok right?

His burgers look about medium.

That's fine. Actually, they taste better that way...cooked medium.

He won't get sick. Beef has to be cooked on the outside, and poultry has to be cooked all the way through.

he will probably not get sick, but in the future cut one of the burgers in half before you remove all of them from the grill. Medium Well is the "rarest" safe temperature ground beef should be cooked to, as ground beef tends to be the type of beef that is more readily infected with nasty bacteria. steaks or roasts are ok to medium. invest in a meat thermometer - they are invaluable when grilling meats.

when you are cooking,i form the patti and then put a hole through the middle of the pattie. this ensures the meat gets fully cooked.when the hole is mostly filled in the burger, then it,s ready to eat. i wouldn,t recomend feeding rare cooked food to a child. hope this helps.

When I make my hamburger pattys i put a hole in the middle--that promotes more even cooking as well as cuts down on the shrinkage.
