He wont eat Gerber Meats at all, but has no problem with veggies and fruits. Will sometimes eat turkey slice but refueses it more. He has 4 7oz bottles of formula a day. how much protine does he need. How can i get him to eat more table foods. He doesnt like the alot of texture...... please help

PLEASE DO NOT TRY PEANUT BUTTER!
Children should not be given any nuts or nut products until they are three years of age to reduce their risk of developing a nut allergy.

You can offer trying egg yolks as well. You can scramble an egg yolk with some cottage cheese and try that. (Babies cannot have egg whites until they are 12 months old)

If offering meat alternatives does not work, try mixing the meat with something the baby likes. Applesauce often works.

Many babies refuse new foods up to the first 16 times they are offered. As frustrating as it may be, keep trying and one day your baby may change his mind!

My kid didnt like meats either, but loved fruit and veg. When I served gerber sticks - looked at me like it was posion. Sometimes it takes 20 or more times of exposure to get used to a new food - just keep trying. My 17 month old will now gladly eat chicken nuggets and even a little steak, but avoids the gerber meats like a plague. We tried canned chicken, and roasted chicken too. I found if we offer the meat first, more gets eaten, than if we put the veggies out at the same time. Try black beans or yogurt too, for protein.

Also, you can reduce the bottle and then he'll be forced to eat more table foods out of hunger. The longer you wait the harder it is (or so the "experts" say). Good luck!!

Honestly, this is not too much to worry about non e of my children ate the babyfood meats or sticks etc. Try giving him small strands (like strings) of REAL chicken. I gaurantee that he will react in a different way, I mean have YOU ever tried the babyfood meats? My son fed it to me a few times and you know what? They are Terrible! As for things like protein you really need to add in some of the red meats, try making something with hanburger meat for him. Theres also that potted meat and vienna sausages which my children love. The potted meat you could combine with mayo and put little bits on bread. At 11 months old honestly, the gerber baby foods are no longer necessary. Just the cookies and fruit puffs and this sort of item. At this point he should have atleast a few teeth and needs to learn ho to use them properly, or it will cause dental problems in the future. Start out with easier to eat items. Like I said the strands of chicken, hamburger meat (do not add ketchup or other items like this) Sauce is fine though. And remember these are new tastes and texures to him. They will take a little getting used to. Goodluck!

Are you giving him the same food you are eating, or just baby food from jars? Also, have you tried the baby food that has noodles and veggies in addition to meat? My daughter wouldn't touch the meat-only jarred foods, so I tasted them. They are awful by themselves. My daughter loved the ones with noodles, though, and she liked the meat that the adults were eating, as long as it wasn't too spicy. I just cut it up into very, very small pieces or even put in the blender with a little water to make it more like baby food (but chunkier) so she wouldn't choke on it.
An advantage of cutting it into small pieces is that if your baby can pick them up with his fingers and feed himself (if he likes the meat). Also, it takes some babies awhile to begin to like meat. In that case, you might try eggs (well cooked, not runny), if you haven't already. I wouldn't worry too much about this, though, because if he is still getting alot of formula every day and seems healthy, he's probably fine, and just keep offering him meats until he develops a taste for them.

I would consult with your doctor. He can get proteins from other foods. I think you have a point about the texture. I have a grandson who eats little beef because of the texture, but he will eat chicken ( loves it ) and likes macaroni and cheese ( I think all kids do ). When forced to eat beef I have seen him get sick and throw up, so we quit that. You might trying just putting a dab of table foods in front of him, he may get used to them and even find that he likes them. You also might try getting some of those chicken patties, their texture is different.

Babies and toddlers often don't care for the taste of meat. They usually grow into it as their tummies get a little more mature. Also, baby food meat is really nasty.

I often make a stew of beef and vegetables for dinner. I mash the veg (carrots and potatoes) with a little broth for my baby's dinner. She loves it, and she gets a little of the "meat juice" without having to eat the meat. She also loves baby yogurt and cheese, which have a lot of protein.

Your baby is getting 28 oz. of formula a day, which is providing the vast majority of the protein he needs. Keep offering him small bites, and he'll eat meat when he's ready.

Don't force him to eat meat.
Some kids are born disliking the taste and texture of meat and poultry. If you are giving him plenty of healthy food, he will get plenty of protein from those foods.
Have you ever smelled or tasted canned baby meat?
I sure wouldn't put it in my mouth!
See what kind of creative foods you can come up with for your son that are fresh, not canned-
IE
finely diced avocado
little pieces of banana
slightly cooked fresh carrots cut into tiny bites
snow peas (inside pea part only)
cubed, diced, boiled potatoes w/butter
scrambled, boiled, or fried egg in tiny bite-sized pieces
soft pears cut into pieces
You can safely introduce your son to real food at 11 months, and he's probably bored with the canned stuff.

try tofu or peanut butter.
you should do a search on all protein foods. That's good that he doesnt eat too much meat. Because a lot of vegetables and fruits have the nutrients we need. And also to make sure he's getting all the nutrients, you can try pedia sure for all the daily vitamins.

hey im not a parent but from a biology student's point of view i think its so great that your little tyke happily eats vegetables and fruits,,they are very nutritious and good for him..they provide almost all nutrients..and as for proteins..peanut butter is excellent also u can try experimenting with hard boiled eggs instead of full out meat.the egg is much lighter and packs more proteins. also cheese,peas and beans.
that way he will get foods that he likes and also the proteins he needs.
don't force him to eat meat.

don't worry about it just make sure he eat beans My 2 year old will not eat meat. I ask the dr he say that good and that it not a problem. he said that it a good thing. he also said that they will grow out it.
