Anger from past hurts can result in a lot of emotional baggage. Working on forgiveness (which is part of the 12 steps) can be very beneficial.

There is a good book called Forgiveness Is A Choice by R. Enright that can be very helpful.

Congratulations! All the best.

Single or not, we all have baggage. It can be good or bad depending on the life choices we make. Sometimes we are raised in a situation that teaches us early on. good or bad choices.. The good thing you've done is maintained sobriety! That should make you feel good.. Follow some 12 step programs either through a church or A.A meetings. You can find programs offered everywhere. Being around good honest caring people is also a good idea.. Good luck!

Congratulations on your sobriety. There is no simple solution to your question. Take baby steps; one thing at a time. If you become overwhelmed, give yourself a break, i.e. don't answer the phone, take a day off, immerse yourself in a movie or a book or a physical activity. If you have a support group, contact one of them. Remember that YOU are in charge of your life and YOU make your own choices. There are lots of sites on the internet that can offer assistance. Sorry I don't have a magic cure-all (if I did, I'd be rich). Take care of yourself and good luck.
