generally no, however if she learns to make a "healthier" version of it it will be much better for her.

1- use low-fat mozzerella (made from skim milk) cheese- sargentos works. don't put too much on it. If she can't cut down on the amounts of cheese, I suggest using parmesian mixed or another stronger flavored cheese, even though it might be more calories and fat- in the long run if it enables you to use less of it, then it is better. work the numbers.

2- use whole wheat pitas for the crust- make sure they don't have high fructose corn syrup in them.

3- it is best to add some chicken or something for extra protien.

4- tomato sauce (not pre-made pasta sauce) seasoned to your liking and maybe a splash of whey protien poweder (unflavored- extra protien) and powdered flaxseed (extra omega 3's) mixed in with the sauce- you won't even taste it.

Use a thin cracker-type crust, use a lowfat or nofat "cheese"and go light on it, no olive oil, no meat, plenty of sauce and veggies.
Not the best diet food, but a smartly dietized pizza such as this ain't the worst either.

Sometimes you just NEED pizza.

You can make a healhy pizza, some pizza places have healthyer pizzas.
You can make or buy whole wheat crust, use lots of veggies or fruits. Avoid cheese or use low fat cheese in smaller quantaties. Also avoid any processed meat, turkey or chicken prepaired in a healthy way is a nice meat choice. Check the sause for sugar also, I know theres sugar in some ketchups I would imagine the same in sauses.

You can eat three slices from Pizza Hut that is hand tossed, and is cheese for 660 calories. If you are going the 1200-1500 calorie diet, what's so wrong with it???

Make her some mini pizzas on whole wheat english muffins.
The sauce should be made mostly from plain stewed tomatoes and other vegetables she likes (pepper, onion, mushroom) but spice it up with garlic, onion powder, and italian seasonings. The cheese should be low fat and used sparingly. Bake them in the toaster or in the oven.

130 calories per english muffin (since you split them in half that's two mini pizzas)
If you make your own tomatoe sauce from tomatoe paste and veggetables and use about two tbs per mini pizza that's around fifty calories.
A tsp of cheese on each mini pizza would add about forty more calories each.

So the total calories for eating two mini pizzas is about: 260
Not bad for a light meal.

Pizza isn't a good diet food but if she must then tell her to eat it without meats. Vegetables or just plain cheese is good but watch the portions!

try making your own pizza. use healthy, low fat ingrediants and don't add things like pepperoni, which secrete grease making pizza unhealthy. also, try dabbing the pizza with a napkin to soak up any excess grease.

or, suggest some healthier alternatives.

Limit herself to ONE slice a meal and she is wasting a time to get good nutrition. But calorie wise one slice for a meal is not so bad.

Offer her a salad BEFORE the pizza arrives!

But ultimately, she is responsible for her own body.

weight watchers, lean cuisine, and south beach all have pizza meals. 2 slices of pizza once in a while isn't bad. or make your own with english muffins.

The cheese in pizza is bad, maybe some sauce w/veggies and no cheese. It may sound yucky, but its good.
