question on birds?

i had a bird and it layed eggs without intercourse. my boyfriend says this isnt possible. so can birds lay eggs on their own?

Female birds do not need to have a male in order to lay eggs. Throw the eggs away because they are not fertilized.

Yes female birds can and will lay an egg without a male bird around. That just means the egg isn't fertile.

Simple answer is yes. Female birds may lay eggs with or without the presence of a male they only need the male to fertilize it.

Birds can lay eggs. They are just not fertile. You will have to throw the eggs out after a while. Your female will sit on them for some time though....trying to get them to hatch. Think of chickens. You eat eggs don't you? They don't all have babies in them.

yes, they just won't be fertile. There will be no baby in it, and they will just sit on it until it goes "bad." Female birds lay eggs. Think of chickens. :-) Or people...we ovulate our eggs whether we are with a man or not.

i have been raising birs for a while now, and authough not all females will lay eggs, they sometimes do, just like a chicken. your eggs wont hatch though, if they aren't fertile

Yes, but they wont hatch. They haven't been fertalized.

The chicken eggs that you buy in the store are eggs that haven't been fertalized by a male.

yes they can...the eggs wont be fertile dou, so no babies....once the pair has intercourse, then they can have babies
