OBEY your doctor! I have had pneumonia and you are sicker than you think even when you are healing.

I know how stir crazy you get but obey your doctor! He/she knows best in this.

By the way, it CAN return if you do not take a care with yourself before you are completely healed.

Yes, the possiblity is there. Pneumonia is fluid in your lungs, and outside air contains germs etc. that can further infect you. I'd stay in, and get lots of rest...you kinda need your lungs to live! Stay away from anyone with even the slightest cold, your immune system is WAY down right now.

2 of my middle aged (50's) friends just caught pneumonia and died VERY unexpectedly in the last WEEK :((. They were fine, then they got sick, and were dead days later. both were professional singers. Pneumonia is still a VERY SERIOUS condition, and i do NOT recommend waiting it out at home. Get to a doctor and make SURE he is ON TOP of it.

Yes, but it is generally the elderly or people with a low immune system. It's better to stay inside and rest to ensure total recovery, the less you rest, the longer the illness will last.
If you must go out, bundle up and stay warm (you won't die but it may be harder to breathe depending on the weather).

Absolutely. The American Lung Association (at the link below) says pneumonia (counted together with flu) is the 7th leading cause of death in the USA.

yes they can. Before antibiotics were known patients of pneumonia died of the disease. Now with the modern medicine they can fight it better, but it is still a serious disease and you should be careful.

yes, you can, if you do not take care of yourself. 100 years ago diarrhea was on of the top causes for death. Not because of the it was a disease, because people did not know how to take care of themselves.

That depends who told you. I think your best bet to find out would be to call a Doctor and ask them.
