Hi
You need manuals to give instructions about safe and proper use.

There is one paradox however, some years ago in the 70s a video recorder was advertised on the telly as being
"so simple even the cat can work it"
I doubt the cat survived after it got its paw caught in the flappy hole thingy at the front

The owner's manual will tell you:

How to operate all the functions of your car correctly (seats, locks, lights, audio equipment, etc.)
What each switch does.
What each warning light represents, and what action to take if any one illuminates.
What fuel to use.
What engine oil, PAS fluid, air-con refrigerant, etc. to use.
What pressures to inflate your tyres to.
How to use the jack correctly to prevent damage to your car and support it safely when changing a wheel.
etc.

Probably 10% of the questions in the "Cars & Transportation" section of Yahoo! Answers could be answered simply by reading the owner's manual.

If you want to know how to take care of your car, the basic answers are generally in the owners manual .

If you don't care, then the next best thing to read is the labor charge chart at your mechanic's shop.

The owner's manual gives you valuable information regarding your vehicle, the proper weight oil, tune-ups, tire rotation, just about anything you need to keep track of.
