I had drinks with this girl last night and everything was great until we started talking about wild experiences -- I gave her some of my wild experiences, but she just seemed bored and commented "You know I'm disappointed because I'm doing all the talking" -- although I was talking too. My question is -- how do you turn a date around when you get the feeling that you might be boring your date? I sometimes think women have it so easy -- they get asked out, they get taken to dinner, the boy pays, the boy has to do everything (be funny, win her over, etc.). The woman just has to sit there and look pretty and there are plenty of guys that just eat that up ... what's your advice for a guy? Does a guy have to be firing on all cylinders ALL the freaking time? Especially in the context of a date going bad or boring, isn't it the girl's responsibility as much as the guy's to turn the date around? How do guys cope with screwing up dates with girls they really like?

Hey man are you in your late 20's? Your dillemas sound familiar. If not you are ahead of your time in relationship maturity.

Its better not to "dump your purse out" in front of her on the first few dates. What I mean by this is you dont get in there and tell her everything about yourself. Its ok for her to say whatever but you need to be the mysterious one that she -wants- to talk to and find things out about.

Use open ended questions to make her continue to do all the talking. It is kind of odd that she would stop and complain about doing all the talking. Most girls love to go on and on about themselves. Generally you just sit there and look them right in the eye and nod your head periodically. Its a basic first date.

The other thing you can do instead if you dont want to risk being boring is limit the amount of quiet time you have together. Maybe just a dinner but go do something where there isnt much talking and more physical interaction.. bumper cars or goofy golf, fish out of her what she likes to do and go do that. Keep the conversation off of you and what you are about as much as possible. Throw a little out there but like I said, dont dump out the purse.

I completely know what you mean about the traditional dating practices of boy pays for dinner and this and that. If you continually find a girl that only wants that and never offers to foot a bill, you are definitely dating the wrong girls for you. I had the same problem. The perfect girl in my head didnt match the one that I really and truely wanted.

The girls that sit and look pretty are basically "attention whor es". What turns on the that type of girl the most? When they like someone and that someone ignores them. Talks to them enough to let em know their interested but doesnt give them the attention they are dying for. It kills them when they cant get their way.

When a date starts to go bad, it is very infrequent that a girl will try and salvage it. The thing they love to do instead is to start taking inventory of what has occured. You can almost see the little notepad in their head filling up with dirt about you. If you know you dont have a chance, start asking questions that you always wanted to know about girls, you know personal questions. What does it feel like to have sex in the _ _ _ or tell me how it feels when this happens to you. Maybe the date is over but you can gain some helpful information or possibly end the date and get on with your life!

I tend to be shy so I can bore a date. Be prepared! Plan the date! This helps me. Why your driving in your car pretend your date is in the car with you and actually practice talking to her.

Don't be serious! This will bore a girl to death from my own experience! Read a few jokes before you go on the date and tell her. Be silly! Act goofy. Even if your not that funny, it is better then boring her to death.

Be prepared to ask her a bunch of questions about her. Be interested in her. Keep good eye contact.

Don't ask her where she wants to go on date, don't ask her what she would like to do, your the man you plan the date!

Think of something fun to do with your date that both of you will enjoy! A movie date isn't the best idea for breaking the ice in my experience. Plan a date where she is bound to laugh. Like instead of taking girls to the movies, I take them ice skating and roller bladding. Why? Because I am awful at it and watching me fall makes them laugh.

well guys dont have to always pay for dinner.in fact, in my relationship I'm the one who pays for the dates because he doesnt exactly have the money and im alright with that. But all you really gotta do is stop midsentance when you're sensing that your boring her and tell her "I'm sorry.I didnt mean to bore you.Why dont you tell me something you've done."Or tell a joke.I've been in situations where i was talking and then i realized that the other person wasnt really interested. We've all been there buddy.Sorry that it happened to you.Have good luck in the future

She was telling you politely that she wanted you to stop talking about yourself. Focus on her, not on yourself.
